Media shown: Duratrans light wall, gala invitation components, gala program
The Rubin Museum's tenth anniversary gala was its first to be held offsite. I was tasked with filling a light wall behind the primary bar with something that would keep guests "at the Rubin" despite being in a midtown events space. The simplicity of the iconic Buddha statue not only matched the drama of the room, but was a clear signal to guests when they arrived.
The gala invitation was inspired by an animated save the date which continually "unfolded" with imagery of artworks and program photography. While the development team wanted the printed pieces to follow on the electronic one, they wanted it to feel more elegant and less promotional. Using the museum's new palette of reds and a gold detail from a painting from the collection, I simplified the imagery while maintaining the "unfolding" quality quite literally. It is presented here via the elaborately illustrated job order I provided the printer.
